The Best Book Genre For You Based On Your Sign
I recently read Norwegian Forest by Haruki Murakami. The book is considered one of his best novels, and I naturally had high expectations for the book. I have read Haruki’s works before and know what kind of style he has and what kind of stories he writes.
Maybe I have an unpopular opinion, but all things arrive in such a way that first a reputation comes upon them and then the thing itself has not quite lived up to these expectations. That’s what happened with this book too. Of course, it wasn’t completely bad, nor was I totally disappointed, but there’s something in my own expectations that ended up annoying me the most.
My point is: Our expectations are the problem, not the books, and certainly not the people we have high expectations of. Remember that. And try to expect as little as possible so that you can always be pleasantly surprised.
Aries (March 21 – April 19): Action-Adventure
Aries, as an energetic fire sign, must always have a channel in which to express his waste of energy. If they don’t have this channel, they can become quite aggressive. Most of the time it’s some kind of exercise or training, but sometimes they just don’t feel like it. This is where the books come into play. They can be a great help when Aries needs distraction or relaxation.
For you as an Aries, it would be best to read action novels or adventures. These works will draw you most into their world. All parts of them are interesting for you and you won’t get bored easily. Such books even encourage you to become active and do something so that you can tell interesting or funny stories later.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Romance
Taurus people may seem hard and cold, but they are great romantics. These earth signs are ruled by Venus and love everything beautiful and lovely. Outwardly, they like to act as if nothing can harm them, especially at work. But in their personal life, they prefer to have a great romance and enjoy and cheer life every day.
For this reason, they enjoy reading romantic comedies and romance novels in general. In these books (and films) they will find the inspiration they need for their own lives or the kind of relaxation where they don’t have to think, but can just laugh or take a deep breath every now and then. This is exactly how you imagine the perfect rest: a book, a warm blanket, a cup of tea or coffee, and silence, taking a few hours of time for yourself and enjoying it can recharge you with good energy for the whole week.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20): strange books
Gemini is already considered a strange and most hated zodiac sign. Some of it is well deserved, but some of it is not. It’s not easy to fight with such a reputation. These talkative Air signs love to cause a stir and shock others with their ideas.
Therefore, it is not surprising that you also like to read strange books or watch unusual films. You’ll do just about anything for a good story. You take great pleasure in recommending such works to your friends and waiting for their reactions. You’re happy that you can talk about it later and comment on your favorite parts. While there are no hard and fast criteria for what is weird, you intuitively know what is mainstream and what is not, and then you move away from what you think is mainstream.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Women’s Literature
This may be a bit one-sided, but for me, the crabs simply radiate a strong feminine energy. This is partly because they are ruled by the Moon and are considered the mother of the zodiac. I don’t know how male Cancerians like this fact, but it just feels that way.
Perhaps women’s literature is too specifically selected, because nowadays who can say exactly what is for women and what is for men? But in this case, it means all the topics that can be found under the term women’s world. Such as motherhood and pregnancy, parenting, lifestyle, fashion, and the like. Novels and films with this theme have always attracted primarily female audiences and are enjoyed by Cancers. This strengthens their feminine side and at the same time, they learn many tricks and tips that they can then use in life. Both entertaining and practical, right?
Leo (July 23rd – August 22nd): Young adult literature
Leos, who are energetic and eternal youths, do not have much time for reading in their lives. They prefer to attend parties and various social events rather than sit alone at home and read a book. More often they go to the cinema or watch a film or series on Netflix. But when they have already finished school, they don’t want to read much.
But when something like this happens, they read everything that is important for their job or their current situation in the world. When it comes to novels, they love young adult literature because it reminds them of their youth, of the time when they were carefree and free. A tip for all Leos would be to read a book that they actually read when they were young. Then the memories literally flow into her and delight her.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22): Historical novels
These logical and rational earth signs enjoy learning, reading, and research. Virgos are ruled by Mercury, which is responsible for communication and learning. That’s why they are so intelligent and usually quite versatile. Of course, Virgos always want to be up-to-date and follow the events that they consider important.
But in literature, what is most interesting for you is to read about times gone by, to imagine and think about the ancient world in which previous generations lived. If you haven’t tried this yet, I wholeheartedly recommend it. You will certainly find it exciting to see how our world and technical progress have developed. You’ll enjoy comparing what it could look like and what it looks like today. Luckily, there are so many subgenres of historical novels that it never gets boring.
Libra (September 23rd – October 22nd): Biographies
As an intellectual and communicative air sign, Libra enjoys reading about other people’s lives and experiences because they can always find out and learn something new from them. They can get a lot from biographies and then use them in their lives. It would be best if they were autobiographies by people who already like or follow them. This makes it even easier for them to identify with them and think about what they would do in the same situations.
After reading such an inspiring biography, it would be wise to join a community that talks/writes about this book. Then you can express your ideas and opinions and compare them with others. In such internet forums you can find people who think similarly to you and who can recommend other books to you. This way you can meet new people and deepen your knowledge of the topic.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): Crime stories
This was a logical choice for these mysterious water signs who love secrets and mysteries. Crime novels suit them best because they allow them to isolate themselves from everyday life and forget their worries. Scorpios imagine scenes from crime novels so vividly and sensitively that they believe they can do it all themselves. Of course, whether they identify more with detectives or criminals depends on their personality.
These two-legged lie detectors want to think even when they are resting and keep their brains occupied in some way. That’s why they find crime novels, films and series relaxing. So when a Scorpio says he’s read or seen so many of them that he can kill you so no one ever finds out, believe him!
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): graphic novels or comics
Sagittarius are curious and fun people who like to read something that doesn’t take up too much time and is interesting enough to keep their attention. On the other hand, this book or text must also contain images so that they can experience the story better. That’s why graphic books or comics are the perfect choice for them.
Comics are a better choice here because you can follow the story over and over again because there are several shorter episodes that don’t last as long. You quickly find out what is happening, you see photos if you don’t want to read everything in detail, and everything is clear to you. Plus, you don’t have to wait long for a new episode, which is another plus. There are also so many topics to read about in comics that they almost never get boring.
Capricorn (December 22nd – January 19th): classic novels
Capricorns are traditional and somewhat old-fashioned earth signs who are also a little nostalgic for the good old days. This means they can also be big fans of historical novels, but classic works like The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald suit them best. Capricorns can settle in very well and imagine everything vividly as if they had lived back then.
You enjoy reading because you value learning. After all, you can take a punchline for your life from every book. What also appeals to you about classic novels is that they captivate you. When you read, you want to be busy, think, stop, and think about what you just read. That’s why you don’t read easy topics, but rather ones that you can really work through.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): Science fiction
What could suit these creative and strange air signs better than good sci-fi? They imagine many things anyway, but technological advances are their favorite topic. Aquarians love to fantasize about what our world will or can look like in the future. What variants of the future are there for us as humanity if we continue to live as before? What should we possibly change and so on?
You like to be dreamy and imagine things like that, but reading about them always gives you new ideas. But when you share them with others, they usually think you’re crazy. You just can’t understand that most people don’t think about such things at all. Then they don’t know what to say to you and just exclude you because that’s the easiest thing to do. Maybe it would be best to find another air sign and talk to them about it. They will understand and even develop theories with you.
Pisces (February 19th – March 20th): Fantasy
These dreamy and romantic Water signs like to read, of course when they have time for it. This may not be that often, but on vacation or a few times a month, it can be a good opportunity to do it. We do not count news and Internet portals with current world topics as reading here. The novels or books that Pisces likes to read are mostly fantasies, a variety of magical themes, such as Harry Potter or Narnia.
You like to imagine a better world. And every world is better than ours in all fantasies in literature. Why? Because they have magic and our world doesn’t have it. Or is it? As an intuitive Pisces, you love to think that there is some kind of magic in every dimension. This way it seems more meaningful to you to live and create. For you, art is magic in the world we know. That’s why you like reading about it. Now that I think about it a little, I’ve seen a lot of fish reading, but they all have pretty different tastes in books. What is that actually about?
Final Thoughts
Maybe we shouldn’t base this criterion on favorite genre based on the sun sign at all, but rather based on the Mercury sign, because he is responsible for reading and learning. If you compare these two, which one suits you and your reading style better? Could you even find your favorite genre in this text?
If we already have a popular genre, maybe we should just read that one. In this way, we will always be satisfied with the work, at least because the story would suit us most of the time. Does that make any sense?
I’m a person who likes to experiment and try lots of different things to see what I like best. That’s why I read books or watch films that aren’t quite to my taste.
Sometimes I was pleasantly surprised and sometimes negative or even disappointed, but I didn’t find a specific rule. Whether I personally like a work or not depends on nothing: director, author, genre, story, my own mood, nothing!
I feel like if I read the same things again they would seem completely different to me. I did this a few times with the films because I liked them so much that I wanted to watch them again. In fact, I noticed some things for the second time that I didn’t notice at first glance, but I didn’t get a completely different impression.
